RESONIKS closes seed round to scale AI-powered acoustic quality control across European manufacturing
Because every defect that slips through costs more than the part
THE HAGUE, 20 May 2026
RESONIKS, the startup pioneering AI-powered acoustic testing for manufacturing, has closed a seed round led by Dutch impact VC SHIFT Invest, with co-lead Kvanted Ventures and angel investor Frank Höcker. The funding will accelerate the commercial rollout of the QCFlex, RESONIKS’ standalone system, and expand the team to meet growing industry demand.
Traditional non-destructive testing methods such as X-ray, ultrasound, and dye penetrant are slow, costly, and require scarce expertise, which means most manufacturers can only spot-check a fraction of their output. Undetected defects drive scrap, recalls, warranty disputes, and up to 20% in lost revenue. The QCFlex closes this inspection gap: a clear pass/fail in seconds, no radiation or chemicals, no operator analysis required, and 100% coverage of both surface and internal defects, on parts where conventional methods struggle to ensure full inspection.
Founded in 2022, RESONIKS helps industry leaders rethink quality control. The first pre-ordered systems are already deployed to OEM’s and Tier 1, Tier 2 suppliers. "By integrating the QCFlex early in the production line, manufacturers can make their production process more sustainable," says Felix Wassmann, CEO of RESONIKS. "Every part caught before it travels further down the line means less wasted energy, less scrap material, and a leaner process overall. Compared to CT scanning, that’s 86% lower CAPEX and 71% lower OPEX."
The raise follows a landmark industry validation: RESONIKS won the VDMA Startup Award 2025, voted by 600+ senior decision-makers at Germany's largest mechanical engineering trade association.
"RESONIKS sits right at the intersection of industrial innovation and sustainability impact. Defect detection sounds like a quality control problem, but when you catch it early, it becomes a climate solution. Less scrap, less rework, less wasted energy at scale across European manufacturing,” says Willem Poerink, Associate Partner at SHIFT Invest.
That framing resonated with SHIFT Invest, focused on green industries and sustainable production, and with Kvanted Ventures, which backs early-stage industrial tech through its €70 million debut fund. Angel Investor Frank Höcker, who built PRESTO and Höcker Polytechnik, adds “Industrial technology is a sector where hardware, software and domain expertise all must come together, and that's precisely where most startups fail. RESONIKS has cracked that combination with the QCFlex. The team has the product and the credibility to move fast in a very demanding market.”
With the QCFlex in commercial launch, RESONIKS is targeting quality control managers and production engineers across mechanical engineering, aerospace, automotive, energy and utilities, and industrial equipment sectors. The round provides the foundation to convert pilots into long-term deployments and scale the team behind them.
