RESONIKS' Employee Stories - Meet Anssi Aho
Meet Anssi Aho, our Head of Engineering. True to his Finnish nature, he is calm, thoughtful, and the quiet type. But don’t let the silence fool you. His dedication, creativity, and hands-on approach speak louder than words. You’ll most likely find him in our workshop, sleeves rolled up, carefully bringing ideas from sketches into real, tangible products. Anssi doesn’t just build things, he shapes them, tests them, and refines them until they come alive. Outside of work, he’s fun, witty, and full of interesting perspectives, making him a colleague everyone enjoys having around.
A bit about me
I’ve had the privilege to work across a wide spectrum of industries; from the heavy machinery and pulp industry, where the scale of work is massive, to the precise and agile world of small measurement devices. That variety has taught me to stay curious and never stop learning. At RESONIKS, what excites me most is that we aren’t afraid to test bold ideas. Not every attempt works perfectly the first time, but each misstep becomes an opportunity to improve and grow. That learning process is something I truly value.
I love being part of the RESONIKS team
Working at RESONIKS feels energising because I’m surrounded by incredibly smart, driven, and curious people. The team is young, and that creates a unique kind of momentum, there’s always a spark of energy ready to burst into something meaningful.
ONLY at RESONIKS
Every now and then, things just click and something that felt impossible suddenly works out. It almost feels like a small miracle, and that’s something I’ve only experienced here.
Morning Motivation
For me, mornings begin with a ritual: grinding fresh coffee beans and making a full pot of coffee. That first cup sets the tone for the whole day.
Inspiration at Work
What inspires me is the collective spirit of the team. Everyone here shares a curious mindset and a relentless drive for success. It’s motivating to be in an environment where we constantly push each other to improve.
Most Exciting Part of the Job
There’s a unique thrill in watching a product evolve. It starts as a drawing on a screen or a sketch on paper, and then step by step, it turns into something real that you can touch, test, and eventually deliver to customers. That transformation is the most rewarding part of my job.
Life outside of Work
When I’m not at RESONIKS, I spend a lot of time outdoors. Running and cycling are my ways of clearing my head, while the gym helps me recharge physically. I find that staying active helps me bring fresh energy back into my work.
Creative Process
My best ideas don’t usually arrive in a sudden flash. They come after careful thought, repeated trials, and a willingness to adjust along the way. I believe innovation often emerges from persistence rather than instant inspiration.
Book Recommendation
Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman. It’s a book that really changes how you view decision making, both in work and in life.
If You Were an Instrument
I’d be the drums. They set the rhythm, keep everything together, and create the foundation for the rest of the music, much like engineering does for product development.
