The ARK141 Sensor Hub connects up to 14 MPK801 microphones, delivering power and data to each one over a single Sensor Cable and keeping every channel synchronized to within 100 ns. At its core, the ARK141 is an Ethernet switch that doubles as the master clock, distributing sync to every connected microphone. No per-channel preamp rack, no multichannel converter - just add a mic to add a channel.

The MPK801 simplifies audio capture and reduces array costs. Pre-calibrated and compensated microphones deliver high-quality data up to 80 kHz, consistent to ±0.5 dB from unit to unit, so channels are directly comparable. Industrial M12 cables carry data and power to each microphone on a single connection to the ARK141 Sensor Hub. Calibration data lives on each microphone and is applied automatically, so a replacement drops straight in with no recalibration and no model retraining.

Software & Data Integrity

Built for data you can trust

Built for data you can trust

The MPK801 is engineered around the integrity of your data stream. Built-in packet-loss tracking means you always know your recording is complete, and heartbeat monitoring flags any microphone the moment it stops reporting - so nobody has to check by hand whether data is still arriving.

Heartbeat monitoring - a failed unit is identified by name the moment it stops reporting

Packet-loss tracking for verified, complete recordings

On-sensor calibration data, applied automatically. Swap a unit and keep measuring, with no recalibration and no model retraining

Linux audio driver (ALSA) - one input device, one channel per microphone, no per-device enumeration

A Windows driver and a Python API will be available at the end of 2026.

Applications

Independent MPK801s give you parallel measurements. Synchronization through the ARK141 gives you three things they can't.

Independent MPK801s give you parallel measurements. Synchronization through the ARK141 gives you three things they can't.

Cross-asset correlation

Build models that recognise when event B on machine 2 reliably follows event A on machine 1. Synchronization within 100 ns captures timing relationships across separate assets, not just within each one.

Cross-sensor validation to reduce false positives

Simultaneous, correlated readings from multiple positions confirm real events rather than firing on any one microphone's noise. Independent recordings cannot do this; synchronized ones can.

Spatially-diverse dataset generation

Capture the same acoustic event from multiple angles at the same instant. Richer training data than single-microphone datasets can produce, at a fraction of traditional multi-channel DAQ cost.

Acoustic performance is identical whether an MPK801 runs standalone or in an array. What changes is how it is connected, powered and synchronized — shown first below.
